The Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida proudly holds family-oriented events allowing South Florida residents to enjoy fun, educational and culturally rich experiences. These special happenings promote the important relationship the Tribe has established and strives to maintain with the local community.
Our signature events include Miccosukee Music Festival and Miccosukee Tribe Celebrates American Indian Day event – both held at Miccosukee Resort & Gaming, and the Miccosukee Indian Arts Festival, occurring each December at the historic Miccosukee Indian Village. Join us as we invite everyone to experience the excitement and distinctive activities of our properties, which serve to leave a lasting impression on all those who attend.
Each September, the fourth Friday of the month is set aside to honor and celebrate all Native Americans, the first Americans to live in the United States. This significant day has grown to a joyful occasion representing the unique way of life of our people and where all Tribes can share their cultures in a festive atmosphere.
At the Miccosukee Tribe Celebrates American Indian Day Event, you will discover that the focus of this wonderful celebration is to observe, learn about, and share the heritage, way of life and customs of the Miccosukees and Native American Tribes throughout the country.
Here’s your rare opportunity to watch a Miccosukee Fashion Show, witness the daring alligator wrestling, explore the genuine Indian arts and crafts, and enjoy Native American music and dancers. You’ll be fascinated by the amazing attention to detail and craftsmanship when you discover the multi-colored Miccosukee patchwork, beadwork and jewelry. As an added bonus, don’t forget to complement your day of adventure with one of our captivating airboat rides.
This year's event is scheduled for September 28 from 10 am to 6 pm.
